In the past a few decades, the trend of globalization has rendered the world economies more interdependent. Today all businesses from international to domestic are exposed to international competitive forces that can have serious consequences for their performance and survival. Such international competition brings especially new challenges to corporations and managers directly involved in foreign markets.
The challenge is to impulse with a better productive scale, the presence of our industry in the international market, to reduce risks by harnessing the opportunities that the globalization of the markets gives us.
A fundamental aspect of our strategy and one of the basic motors of our growth is international trade. It is imperative to increase the competitiveness of our companies, to give a greater boost to our exporting sector and to stimulate the growth of our productive industry.
Our main task is to support and promote Canadian companies in order for them to establish a policy of "Sustaining Development" and to apply principles that, simultaneously, will minimize external impacts, reduce costs, fortify their internal structure, and project them in the international markets.
The challenge can be overwhelming, but the attitude of our entrepreneurs is a fundamental part of this process, and I am convinced that by working together we will manage to create the conditions required to stay in the path of development.
Our commitment will continue to be Hard Work, Determination and Unity. I have the conviction that this is the formula to overcome any barrier. It is certainly not an easy conviction, but one that if followed, can do nothing more than enhance our competitiveness and presence in this global market.
